University of Houston, the University of Southern California, the University

AFA draws a faculty of internationally
recognized performers, composers, conductors and educators
from around the nation and that more than 90% of AFA’s faculty
have been awarded advanced degrees?
AFA’s acclaimed Faculty Concert
Series draws audiences from throughout Houston
and southeast Texas?
AFA is supported by the City of Houston, by Houston’s most prestigious
private foundations and corporations and by some of the city’s
most influential and respected philanthropists?
AFA concerts take place when most other presenting organizations are
on summer hiatus and that our official Audience
Development Initiative, implemented in collaboration
with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Ballet Academy, is a proven
vehicle for building new audiences for the arts in Houston?
AFA
collaborates with numerous area arts
organizations to bring exciting and innovative
programming to our students? In the 2006-2007 season, AFA will be collaborating
with such groups as the Houston Symphony, the Symphony of Southeast
Texas, Young Audiences of Houston, the Center for Performing Arts Medicine,
Ben Stevenson's Houston Ballet Academy and many more.
The 2006 AFA Concert Series offered more
than 17 free concerts to a total attendance of
more than 5,000 and premiered or presented more American works than
any other Houston presenter.
