Where is the AFA Conservatory held?
The AFA Conservatory is held at Pershing Middle School, 3838 Blue Bonnet Blvd., Houston, TX 77025. Pershing is inside the 610 Loop near Bellaire & West University at the corner of Blue Bonnet and Stella Link, between Bellaire Blvd. and Beechnut.

Does it cost anything to audition for AFA? When are tuition and enrollment fees due?
There is no cost to apply or audition for AFA.

Tuition and enrollment fees are not due until an applicant is accepted, has gone through the scholarship process (if applicable), and an Enrollment Package and Tuition Payment Form has been sent. Tuition and enrollment fees are due by the first day of the Conservatory.

If I attended AFA last summer, do I still have to audition?
Yes. All applicants, regardless of previous attendance, are required to audition-we want to see how you've progressed!

I live far away from campus-does AFA provide transportation?
The AFA staff does its best to help students set up carpools with other students in their area. In May, a list of accepted students is sent out, organized by Zip code and school, so that carpools may be arranged by families to come to AFA. We also offer Metro bus passes in the event that the student needs one to get to campus (please see your Enrollment Package for information).

I cannot attend any of the scheduled audition dates-what do I do?
First, call Amanda Heathco at 713-522-9699 to find out if a recruiting visit is scheduled at your school-it may be possible to audition there. If not, other arrangements may be made if enrollment is not closed for your department, but please let us know as soon as possible.
