In 2009, AFA will once again offer its special Honors String Quartet program. These scholarship groups will have special coaching opportunities with the AFA 2009 Faculty String Quartet-in-Residence and other guest artists, culminating in two chamber music recitals during the Conservatory.

Students will be selected and invited to participate from among all applicants to take part and will receive special scholarship consideration. Those applicants who wish to be considered for this program should indicate their interest on their application form

The Honors String Quartets will perform two chamber music recitals during the conservatory season. Works performed by the 2008 Honors String Quartets were the Shostakovich String Quartet No. 1 in C Major and Brahms' String Quartet in C minor.
